New chair

Thank you Grammy and Grampy for my new chair. It is just my size!
Here is another update on all the words I have learned in the last few weeks:
Up - said as I raise my hands to my head.
Open - also accompanied by sign language.
Shoes - I love to play with shoes!
Keys - another favorite toy.
Bottle - although I usually use a sippy cup.
Water - which sounds a lot like "wa wa"
Down - always followed by "up" once I realize I don't really want to be down.
Food - most popular word...I am always hungry!
More - only signed, not spoken.
Quack quack - said in the bathtub to my rubber ducky.
I am sure there are more, but that is all I can think of right now.

Picnic

The fun was never-ending this weekend. We joined our Bible Study group for a picnic on Sunday where I got to enjoy the playground with Daddy. Now it is time for a much needed nap!

Hats Off Day.

North Burnaby had it's annual Hats Off Day Parade this past Saturday. Last year I slept through the whole thing, but this year I had fun. My favorite parts were the motorcycles and balloons!

Big sister!

We have exciting news to share in our house! Some of you already know that I am going to be a big sister in the fall. The really exciting part is that we recently found out that we are expecting two babies, not just one. We were hoping to tell Grammy and Grampy in person, but it is going to be weeks before we see them again. Our lives are quickly going to get very busy!

We gave in!

Well, we finally gave in and bought a minivan last week. We were hoping to get a fancy station wagon, but there was no way to fit 3 car seats and a big dog into any other vehicle.

Words, words and more words

Here is a list of the things I can be heard saying on a daily basis.....
Jackie - often squealed in delight when I see my dog.
Puppy - again squealed when I see other dogs.
Ball - my first real word (to my dad's extreme joy).
Momma and Dadda - well, mostly just Momma.
Nana - which means banana.
Bye - accompanied by a wave.
Hi - especially when I used to be able to play with the phone.
Nose - and I like to touch everybody's nose while I say it.
No- heard most often these days.
Uh oh - follows closely behind "no".
More to come!!

It wasn't me!

This happened a few weeks ago, but it is still a good story to tell.
So, my mom was making dinner one night and I was bored. I had finished taking everything I could grab out of the cupboards I could reach, so I decided I would play with the phone instead. I was busy playing and my mom was busy in the kitchen. A little while later, we heard a knock at the door. To everyone's surprise, 2 police ladies had arrived at our door and said that a "911" call had been placed from our address. My parents laughed it off and said it was just me (although nobody could prove it!), but the cops had to come in and search every room anyway. Remember I had been taking things out of all the cupboards and nobody had cleaned it up yet...so my mom was quite embarrassed at the mess. Needless to say, I have been grounded from my phone privileges for the next few years.

2 years ago today

Two years ago, our lives were forever changed. My grandma went to meet her Creator in Heaven. She was the glue that held our family together and we still struggle daily without her. She is still missed greatly and we look forward to the day that we are re-united. We love you!

One year ago

One year ago, I was apparently in a big hurry to see the world. Mommy tells me that I came 11 days earlier than expected, after only two and a half hours of labor. Now that I am a big girl though, I am happiest just hanging out at home...listening to my music, reading my books and playing with Jackpot. I am not in as big a hurry to see the world (although I am looking forward to going to the playground when the weather gets a bit nicer).
Thank you for all my birthday wishes!

So cozy

I just wanted to show you my 2 favorite blankets. I just love all the colors and they were both hand-made by very special people. Thank you Auntie Joyce and Grammy!

Daddy's coming home!

My favorite time of the day (and Jackpot's too!)

I'm no baby

Despite this bottle, I am not a baby anymore. I took my first steps last weekend!
