Ready or not....

Here I come!

Bananas

Can a person live on bananas alone? I would really like to try. I cannot seem to get enough bananas these days. Maybe there is some meaning behind what my Daddy keeps saying (i.e. that I am a little monkey!).

My first Christmas

We opened our presents at Grandpa's house on Christmas morning. I needed lots of help, but I had such a good time. I mostly just liked to play with the ribbons and bows, but the boxes were quite fun too. Later in the day, the Crick and Murphy families arrived and we got to do it all over again with more presents! Can we do Christmas again tomorrow?

HO, HO, HO!

Despite the worried look, Santa is not a bad guy afterall.
Merry Christmas to everyone. We hope the season brings many blessings and much joy to you and your family. May God bless you in the coming year!

My family

Bad Hair Day

On the bright side, I actually let my Daddy put me to bed 2 nights in a row without any fussing. Mommy is pretty proud of both of us.

Auntie Nita

My Great Great Auntie Nita passed away last night at her care home in NewWestminster. This picture was taken in April. She wouldn't open her eyes to look at me, but she stroked my hands and legs and told me that I was "heavy". Auntie Nita didn't have any children of her own, so we were her grandchildren and she loved us very much. She was very kind to us. We will miss her!

For Grampy Cecil

This post is primarily for Grampy Cecil's sake. I wanted to show off my new (to me) outfit from the Bridgewater Frenchy's. I went there just for you!

Peggy's Cove

Most of you know that we just returned home from visiting the Maritimes. I don't know who Peggy is, but her cove is sure pretty.

By the way, for those of you who made fun of us for going to Nova Scotia in November, these pictures were taken on the same day that Vancouver was blanketed with 30 cm of snow.

An apple a day...

If you have ever heard the saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", don't believe it. I have been eating nothing but apples and applesauce for the past 2 weeks (despite my mom's best efforts) and today I am home with a cold. Maybe I should give vegetables another chance afterall.

Grandma

Today would have been my grandma's birthday. My mom tells me wonderful stories about my grandma all the time and I wish I could have met her. I know she would have loved me very much. I am thankful that I am able to listen to her playing her favorite hymns on the piano - it helps me go to sleep every night. I know my mom and grandpa miss her very much. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out.

Safety gates

Safety gates...I don't like them. Just when I figure out how to move from one room to another, a new obstacle gets put in my way. All the fun seems to be happening on the other side of the gate!

My room

My room is so much fun because there are always toys on the floor to play with. Plus, there is a little girl in there that looks just like me and she seems to like doing the same things I do! By the way, have I told everyone that I can crawl now?

No worries!

Daddy tells me that it is supposed to rain for the next few days, but I'm not worried. I am ready with my new raincoat!

No Cavities!

Now that I have 3 teeth, my Mommy thinks it's time that I take a little more responsibility for my own personal hygiene. So far I have no cavities!

New skills

I am getting so big that I am now able to do much more stuff than I used to. For example, I can move into the crawling position from sitting and I love to stand at the furniture. I have been rolling for a couple of months now, but I am getting very fast at it. I have even heard rumors that a safety gate will be going up at the top of the stairs this weekend. My favorite game though is to get myself caught into a tight corner and then scream for Mommy to come and help me. She always comes and never lets me down!

Teeth

I now have 2 teeth and they are growing in fast. They are actually quite fun to use - I have just learned how to bite a piece off of my Arrowroot cookie so that I can suck in it my mouth. Mommy tells me that she can see some more teeth coming in on top, but I can't feel them yet. They will be here soon though!

Taylor and me

This past week, I got to visit my new cousin in Billings, Montana. It was a very long drive to get there, but it was worth it in the end. She even let me play with some of her new toys! Taylor and I are going to be good friends when she gets to be big like me.

Whistler Playground

On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy took me and Jackpot up to Whistler for the day. I got to play in the playground and have some fun.

Pumpkin

Daddy keeps calling me "Pumpkin". Can somebody please tell me why? I don't see a resemblence.

Me and Jackpot

This is me with my dog, Jackpot. He is my best friend.

Thanksgiving

For my first Thanksgiving, my family and I decided to visit Grammy and Grampy in Port Alberni. Here we are watching videos of Daddy when he was a little boy. He was sure cute as a kid (don't tell him that I think I am cuter!).

I'm a big cousin!

After 6 1/2 months of being the smallest to 4 older cousins, I finally get to say that I'm a big cousin too! Auntie Rayanne and Uncle Gary welcomed baby Taylor into the world on October 3rd. I can't wait to meet her! Do you think she will let me play with her toys?

Autumn

I have just discovered my favorite time of the year - Autumn. I never knew there were so many toys to play with on the ground outside. Mommy kept telling me not to put the leaves in my mouth, but it was too much fun to resist. Besides, I now have a tooth coming in and putting things in my mouth makes me feel better. You can also see that the front of my shirt is soaking wet with drool because of the tooth. Teething is not fun.

Eating Solids

After six long months of watching Mommy and Daddy eat at the table, I finally get to join in. My favorite foods so far are rice cereal and wheat cereal, but I also love sweet potatoes. I am not a big fan of pears or bananas, but my Mommy tells me to keep trying. Maybe one day I will learn to like them.

A Handful

This is me in my crib. I'm staring at myself in the mirror across the room. I'm not sure what it means yet, but Daddy keeps saying I'm going to be a handful.

First Swim

Mommy and Daddy thought it would be fun if we all went swimming together. I am not so sure that was a good idea. As you can tell, this was not the highlight of my day. The water was cold, it was past my bedtime and there were noisy kids splashing water on me. On top of that, my diaper weighed 4 pounds by the time I got out of the pool. The good news is that I didn't let that stop me. I have been swimming 2 more times and have decided that it is actually kind of fun. Now, instead of other kids splashing me, I get to splash my mommy and daddy by kicking my feet and hitting the water with my hands. And for all you kids out there, special swimming diapers are a great invention.
