Shaylah enjoys picking out her own clothes these days. This is the outfit she picked one morning, including the accessories. Please notice that she is no longer wearing diapers. We have gone 2 whole days without any accidents!

Swimming
Shaylah has fallen in love with swimming. She would stay in the pool for hours if she could. It was great to have her cousins staying in a hotel with a pool recently so she could get more confidence in the water. She now has no problems putting her head under. Swimming lessons will probably be a must in September.
Trip to the zoo
Sorry for the delay in posts. There have been a few incidents...but the camera is now fixed, we have a new computer, the new software has finally been loaded and the company has all gone. Blogging can now get back to normal! :) Here are a couple of pictures from a May visit to the Vancouver Zoo. Notice the jackets...it was very cold that day!

Shaylah's Update
Shaylah has definitely hit the 2 year old phase and keeps us on our toes. Her favorite phrase is "No, I do it!" and she loves to ask questions. She would live at the playground if she could and she looks forward to playing with her friends, often asking for them by name. She has also discovered a love for painting, doing puzzles and blowing bubbbles and she has absolutely no interest in playing with dolls. Why play with dolls when you have 2 real babies to play with? She is very close to being potty-trained during the day....it is our lack of consistency with this issue that is holding her back. She currently weighs 28 pounds and is very tall when compared to her same-age friends.

Another Conversation
This is a recent conversation with Shaylah...
S - Oh no Mommy! I lost my cookie!
M - Where did you lose it sweetie?
S - In my mouth!

Language
Shaylah has a pretty good handle of the English (and some spanish too!) language now. She speaks in 6 or 7 word sentences and has started telling us how she "feels". There is one sound, however, that still eludes her....."th". There are many words that start with "th" and each one is replaced with a different sound. Here are a few examples:
This = Dis
Three = Free
Thumb = Some
